Additional Information
Also available on CD from Fantasy Records with a different sleeve and bonus tracks. There are copies of this LP which has a sticker with the song titles imprinted on it. Underneath the sticker, a track list, very different from the officially released LP, appears. Besides "Do You See What I See", "Your Good Thing Is About To Come To An End" and "Love Pollution", there are several mystery songs that, at least to my knowledge, never were issued. Those are: "People Get Ready", "Do It Bring You Down?", "Brother To Brother", "The Gun" and "Plastic People". ("Memphis At Sunrise" and "Son Of Shaft" are also included on the list, but they were released as singles). It has been confirmed that the "Do You See What I See" LP was recorded twice. However, the material from the first sessions were not considered good enough by Stax and so the entire album was scrapped and re-recorded. What ended up on the final release was drawn from the second batch of sessions. A theory is that the sleeve may have been printed before the album was scrapped and instead of destroying a huge amount of album covers, the sticker was placed on top of the deleted track list. If you know more about this, please write to me (see address below).
